A. Natural Resources, Land Governance & Climate Resilience
NAID works to promote equitable access to land, strengthen customary and statutory land management systems, support community participation in natural resource governance, and enhance climate resilience through sustainable environmental practices.
Key interventions include:
- Land rights education and community sensitisation
- Customary and statutory land administration support
- Engagement of traditional authorities, women, and youth in natural resource governance
- Forest and woodlot development, fire belt construction, and plantation management
- Advocacy for climate mitigation and adaptation actions
- Community-based environmental conservation dialogues
- Research on land, climate impact, and resource rights
B. Public Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
NAID implements high-impact health and WASH programmes targeting mothers, infants, adolescents, schools, and vulnerable communities.
Key interventions include:
- Maternal and child health education
- Adolescent reproductive health and protection
- WASH sensitisation and behaviour change communication
- School and community health promotion campaigns
- Collaboration with Ghana Health Service, GES, UNICEF, World Vision and others
- Health emergency awareness (Ebola, cholera, malaria, etc.)
- Nutrition education for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children
- Community-level monitoring of hygiene practices and sanitation systems
C. Livelihood Empowerment & Local Economic Development
NAID supports women, youth, and smallholder farmers to strengthen livelihoods, diversify income sources, and enhance economic resilience.
Key interventions include:
- Shea and cocoa value chain community dialogues (WEACT projects)
- Support for women’s land access and economic empowerment
- Local enterprise development and skills training
- Workshops on agribusiness, land access, and market opportunities
- Engagement with producer groups and smallholder farmers
- Facilitating partnerships between communities and development agencies
